In addition, my bs in psychology has prepared me to help students in writing research papers, english composition, and problem solving. These degrees have served me well in the past. I would be very eager to pass these skills on to a willing student.
I have a passion for teaching. It is my understanding that all children can learn. However it is crucial that students know that it is ok if they learn at a different pace from others. That is why the teacher must enable the students to make the connections themselves through collaboration, small projects, various 'out-of-the-classroom events/activities, and self-motivated inquiries. Once the information has been perceived by the student as important, he/she will want more to do with it. The information age has brought ... read more

I taught kids from when they were in elementary school all the way until high school. Some students were ineligible to go to normal school so I was their only teacher for years. In that time I managed to get these students up to 4 years ahead in certain subjects like math and science. I've also taught students that could not even speak english when they came to me and in a short amount of time they were fluent.
Teaching to me is about relating the information to the students in a way they can understand. It is very important to make the material relevant to their live ... read more
