My experiences have spanned all ages and types of children's learning abilities. From a church setting, to a public school to a driver training car. As a substitute teacher, I worked on developing a good rapport with the students. And was always willing to assist them in working towards understanding the concepts before them. A Little Bit About Me...

The most important aspect of education that I have learned is that it is not about teachers making a difference; it is about helping students make a difference. Knowing this, I strive to help all students succeed using the most efficient learning strategies possible. Technology is a growing tool in the classroom and I intend to use it as much as possible to engage students and help them learn. Also, it is important to incorporate many learning strategies into planning in order to reach all students. I really enjoy being around kids and helping them learn new things. When you teach a kid something and they finally get it, the sight of their face lighting up is priceless. I believe that one should teach using a variety of methods because all kids do not learn the same way and each individual method shows something new each time. I believe that all kids can learn so much if they work as hard as they can and put forth maximum effort. I think it is very easy to learn/teach using as many hands on examples as possible.

I have spent several years as a student and tutor at the university level. I am planning to enter medical school in the Fall of 2012 and as such have developed a strong foundation in the sciences throughout my undergraduate education. Although I majored in Biology, my true passion is Chemistry. I spent 2 years on a religious service mission where I became fluent in Spanish. I am fascinated by the ability to communicate with an entirely new group of people.
