I believe in creating students who have learned how to learn. I understand that I am only a temporary fixture in the lives of most students. Consequently, I strive to help them understand how to acquire information and ask the right questions so that they can succeed long after I've left their lives. Education is the key to our future and little is more rewarding than being able to have a guiding influence on a young person. I became a scientist because a single college professor ignited my interests in math and science. Everyone is different... we all learn in different ways. My teaching style is to connect with that key way a student likes to learn. I like to make the learning process enjoyable for the student by making the lessons relevant to the student's interests. A Little Bit About Me...

I know the value of a tutor in a young person’s life. As a child I struggled in math, but working with a tutor I overcame my difficulties in this area and eventually went on to complete calculus level two and even become the math club president in high school. I have earned two degrees, a Masters in Business and a BS in Finance which have allowed me to gain extensive skills in math, statistical analysis, finance and writing. I’ve written many research papers and a business plan for a small company which garnered several awards. I have work experience in finance, accounting, and writing and am adept at using most of the Microsoft Office programs to complete projects. I have one year of tutoring experience.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been working with the public for over 20 years, in that time I have worked with young adults as well as mature adults. I have also done some substitute teaching in elementary and high school levels. My experience is in food service and have dealt with many walks of life. I am a very committed member of Lincoln Kiwanis International as well as a member of the Central United Methodist Church. While I was a student at the University of Missouri I received a 5 hour A in Chemistry.
All people can learn, you just have to find a way to make the student understand the information, if its hands on or reading or a combination of both. Children need the tools and the direction and if you provide them both, the sky is the limit. I want to make a difference in a child's life.
