Through my volunteer work with church organizations I have over five years of experience mentoring others, which has given me an excellent understanding of the need for quality educators. I worked as a teacher in Kansas before moving to Oklahoma, where I currently work at a local Boys and Girls Club. There tutoring is a part of the daily activities and youth in various grade levels ask for help with numerous subject matter. I’m not afraid to admit if I’m not confident of an answer to a question and will do all I can to figure out the solution that makes the best sense to the student. After receiving a BS in Education from Illinois State University in 1997, I began teaching all subjects in grades K - 8 in the greater Chicago area over the course of 6 years (Fall 1998 - Spring 2005). After relocating to Delaware in 2005 I began full time substitute teaching in public schools, juvenile detention / rehabilitation facilities and part time tutoring (after school).
