My style of teaching depends on the needs of the student, their skill level, potential and suggestions of the parents. If the student has no general learning difficulties and exhibits potential in other subjects, then I begin by creating a baseline and comfort level with the subject matter. I believe all students have the ability to succeed. In my experience, the most important thing to remember is that all students learn differently, and sometimes what seems like an impossible task just needs to be presented differently for better understanding. Relating the material to situations and applications that are relevant and familiar to that particular student is a much more productive and beneficial way to have students retain information.
