I have four years of music teaching experience in India and have been running an Indian music academy in Michigan since two years. I have been performing with several bands in Michigan and had once collaborated with India-Day event in 2012. I often represent lecture-demonstrations in schools with a percussionist Dan Piccolo. Guitar is one of my top subjects! I have extensive studies in classical and jazz guitar, as well as musical composition. I performed professionally on guitar, keyboards, and electric bass. I also have an MM degree in music.

As a Spanish teacher, I have an MA in Spanish, and have worked as a Spanish teacher at both the secondary and post-secondary levels. I have additionally worked as a Spanish translator and interpreter in the legal, academic, and medical areas. I know the value of knowing more than one language, as I have traveled in many different parts of the world, and have personally experienced the benefits of being able to communicate with people in their own language when travelling.

My BS in Civil Engineering provided me with an extensive education of advanced Mathematics such as Calculus, Dynamics, Physics, and Statics. I worked for 10 years in the field which included design of subdivisions, site condominiums, and other developments. Correspondence between review engineers on projects required proper writing and grammatical skills. Since October of 2009,I have worked part-time for a Metro Detroit tutoring agency. Subjects include Math, Science, English, and ACT test preparation.
Patience and flexibility are the keys. You can't explain a concept the same way to each student and expect each one will understand. Some students need extra time to grasp the material so it's important not to progress unless there's certainty of complete comprhension. Encouragement is also necessary which will build their confidence, and a confident student is a better one.

I've always enjoyed the art of communicating complicated material to those who are just learing or don't quite "get it". My focus is to break things down into basic elements and achieve agreement. A Little Bit About Me...

I tutored with the Writing Fellows every Thursday at Schoolcraft College when I was working towards my Associate's in Liberal Arts. I helped students write and edit their papers. The primary focus was English but there were a few Social Studies/History students thrown in there. I graduated in April 2009 from Eastern Michigan University with my Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Media and Film with a Minor in Creative Writing.
I would usually look the paper over and point out problems with grammar and spelling and tell the student why they weren't working. I believe in the mantra "show, don't tell" when it comes to teaching. I'm pretty laid back and willing to work at whatever pace the student is comfortable with. I don't move on until I feel both of us are on the same page. I think the history of the English language has a lot of really interesting trivia.
