I believe that the purpose of tutoring is to help students help themselves, or to assist or guide them to the point at which they become an independent learner. I know that the content knowledge is an essential ingredient for a tutor; however, to be truly effective, i believe a tutor must combine content knowledge with empathy, honesty and humor. I enjoy working with students of all types of learning styles. I have worked as a Writing Lab tutor in the past and now I am enthusiastic to teach students about a subject I have over 15 years of experience working with daily. I would enjoy teaching students the basics of accounting and bookkeeping and give them an overview of the accounting cycle. I believe that I am personable, easy-going, and patient person.
