I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a guest lecturer several times at RPI. Due to work and family commitments I did not complete the degree. My wife and I homeschooled our children through the primary grades. I taught sciences. While an Employee at IBM, I wrote and taight technical courses. Physics is my forte and I love talking about and teaching the subject. I am especially helpfull to students challenged by word problems. My teaching experience includes English/language arts at the high school level in a suburban district, middle school in an urban district, private school and community college as an adjunct instructor. After having subsequently pursued an alternative career in financial services, I am currently operating as a sole proprietor and have continued my classroom instruction experience for the last three years teahing English as a second language to adult international students on a volunteer basis one evening a week. During my undergraduate studies at the Crane School of Music I had the opportunity to perform numerous solo and ensemble recitals, participate in master classes with world renowned musicians, and complete in depth studies of music from variety of styles, and cultures. Additionally, I have been trained in all areas of basic musicianship, including theory, history, ear training, and composition. Along with 7 other students, I was directly hired out of college to teach 7th grade English. Along with my 4 years of Latin experience, it increased my abilities in the grammatical aspect of the English language. I also tutored college students while I was attending in first yr Latin and math. I took 4 yrs of French in high school, graduated Shenendehowa in 1974. I enjoy working with kids in small groups or one on one. I am a mother of 11 children, the youngest is now 7. I also believe I could assist a first year algebra student or younger. I love and respect all children and try to meet them where they are. I am very perceptive at times and don't give up easy. If one thing doesn't work, I'd try another.
