Hello, My name is Brian and I majored in Electrical Engineering at the University of California, Riverside. In middle school and high school, I took every Honors and Advanced Placement math and science class offered. In college I have taken differential equations, single and multi-variable calculus and physics for engineers. I have always excelled in math and in high school I found that I am also good a teaching it to others. I do not have a lot of formal tutoring experience. I mainly have just helped out friends and friends' siblings whenever it was needed. In high school I helped classmates when they did not understand certain concepts in our math classes. I also tutored a friend's younger brother for about a year and a half, in Geometry and Algebra 2. I am a graduate student at UC Berkeley working towards my Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Since I am interest in teaching , I established my career as follow: 03/2007- 05/2007 Tutor, San Jose Public Library, Seven trees Branch, San Jose, CA 1/2009-1/2010 Private Tutor - Tutoring Math to a high school student.
Since I am an engineer, I teach Math orienting towards its application. In such way, I motivate people by stating application behind any math . I believe examples and theories are necessary for students to understand the material; moreover, challening tests are also necessary for them more exciting about Math and to know the world is not that easy. In short, I will motivate the material by saying the applications, explain the materials, work on the examples, and, then, test the student to know how my teaching is effected to my students
