When helping students learn and understand material I believe it is important to first gain the student's trust, so they will not resist receiving help. I am a recent college graduate and find that it is easier to relate to, communicate with, and gain the trust of students, since I was in their position not long ago. Once the individual's trust is gained I will assess their learning style and determine the obstacles they are having with grasping the material. In Medical School, Residency and practice I have always been expected to be in the simultaneous role of student, teacher, mentor and tutor. I can say I have a vast amount of training and expereience in science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, as well as the liberal arts. I score as an ITSP on the Myers-Briggs evaluation which means I am not only concrete in speech and utilitarian in getting things done, I am also directive and attentive in teaching settings. In 2009 I graduated with a BS in Statistics from Virginia Tech. I also received a minor in Business. Before recently moving to Charlotte, NC I worked as a contracted consultant for a company called Mountaineer Capital LLP in Charleston, WV.
