I have worked in many aspects of tutoring from being a lead teacher in a daycare classroom to my current job as a bilingual teacher assistant in an elementary school. I have held my current job for four years. I have worked with children with varying disabilities. I have also tutored college students in study and test taking skills, reading and comprehension, math, and English language arts.

I have earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education and a master's degree in teaching with an emphasis in learning disabilities. As I mentioned, I have 3 younger siblings-I've been helping with homework forever, and I understand the frustrations that naturally occur when concepts seem elusive. Additionally, I am completely aware that I'm not perfect; I've taken a lot of upper level, difficult courses, and know what it's like to have trouble, sometimes with the easiest concepts. However, consistent interactions with a teacher helped me to find success in so many gruesome classes (Advanced Computational Biology, anyone?). I was a Missionary in Panama for fourteen years. Learned Spanish through a two-year course in the country. As a missionary, I went on to teach Literacy and Bible to indigenous peoples there. After coming home stateside, although not certified, I earned extra income by giving classes in English to Hispanics in my home. I also taught English to monolingual Hispanics through an Afterschool program in Northeast Elementary, Jackson, MI.
