Don't risk your grade/money on mere paper qualifications

My teaching style relies heavily on feedback from the client. I try to have a phone call with a student to learn what they are having difficulty with but also what their professor might expect from them. Then I get a good sense of their personality to understand the best way to get ideas across to them. There are often roadblocks to learning such as personal hangups or self doubt that must be addressed. Other times it is just a matter of understanding what the person does or does not get.

I can best describe my teaching style as flexible. I start with traditional paper-pencil methods. If further clarification is needed I use surrounding objects or tools such as Smart board, manipulatives, different colored pencils, paper-folding or anything else necessary to try. I couple the above with questioning tactics to uncover where the missing link is for the student.
