I teach to whole group but my favorite is small group or individualized to assist students needs I have taught for 29 years in the areas of Reading and Language Arts in grades 6th-7th- & 8th from 1985-2015 (currently). I have received much training in areas relating to Reading Approaches, Learning Styles, Vocabulay Strategies and Test Taking Skills. I have worked enormous amount of time during my teaching career as an After-School Tutor. I enjoy seeing students succeed after hard work through intervention tutorials. I believe all students can be successful through hard work and preserverance.

I help you learn how to study for the tests taken, how to review for a test, or a pop quiz. I give you the options of what you can do to improve if you are having difficulty. Time spent attending conferences and workshops began to help me learn how to help my severely-dyslexic son and grandson. Then I helped apply some of the concepts learned to help several dyslexic families with the problems they had including ADD/ADHA, organizational, spelling, reading, and comprehension issues. I have been volunteering for several years gaining experience along the way. Every student I have helped has had some kind of learning disability involved and guess those have various levels of dyslexia. In just a few cases have I been successful in getting them to have their children diagnosed. I have been teaching since I was young. I have tutored students since the age of 14 and I have taught students from ages 3 to 18 years old. I have been teaching in the Texas public school system for the last 4 years and I have loved every minute of it! I have taught all grades from Kindergarten to 5th as a special education inclusion teacher. As an inclusion teachers I have been able to teach grade level content to students who understand it but need for it to be taught in a different way. I am excellent at lesson differentiation and working with individuals who need help the most. As a Special Education teacher at heart, I firmly believe that education needs to be guided by the student. I may have a lesson to teach but I am constantly changing the lesson depending on the individual student. I believe that learning should be a fun experience that is according the the learners pace.
