I have been a teacher and professor now for about half of my life. I have taught various science subjects to students of diverse abilities. This includes students at the junior high level to medical students. Despite the age difference there are a number of characteristic traits that remain constant in every learner. The job of a professor is to listen to the student and gauge the level of understanding of the topic and steer the learner to correct answer. This is achievable in any topic with any student.
