A Little Bit About Me...

I began my tutoring experience in the fall of 2009 with a program called Breakthrough Manchester. It serves underprivileged students in the area who do not have the resources to succeed. They ranged from grade 5 to 8. With Breakthrough I worked one-on-one with students as well as in a classroom setting in which I conducted my own lessons. I helped students with a variety of subjects such as science, math, social studies, geography, and even organizational skills. I worked with children from all walks of life, including kids with disabilities. During my time at Breakthrough I also spent two days a week tutoring mentally disabled adults. I helped them with basic math and reading skills, as well as life skills.

A Little Bit About Me...

I had the opportunity to begin my teaching career in Miami, Florida. I taught 4th & 5th graders at a private academy. I was able to learn much from my students who represented more than 15 different countries. My semester immersion experience in Costa Rica helped me to understand my students and their families better. While in Miami I tutored 5 different aged children, in various home and school settings. I now work with 1-3 year old children with autism. The situation is much like a tutoring session in that I teach one-one-one in the child's home.
