Meeting the needs of all Learners!

My name is Amanda Ryan. I graduated in 2010 from Arcadia University with a Bachelors in Education. I am elementary k-6 and special ed k-12 certified. I have experience as a Learning Support Teacher and Emotional Support teacher in the School District of Philadelphia. I am currently a multiple disability teacher for grades 3-5. I work with children who are medically fragile, intellectually disabled and have severe orthopedic impairments. I absolutely love what I do and I live to teach. Through my experience working with children who are non-verbal, I have learned many practices and strategies in order to meet the needs of the most diverse learners. I have been tutoring individually for over 8 years for multiple families and children. I have been in child care as a nanny for the past 3 years. Before becoming a nanny I worked as a preschool teacher for about 2 years. Precise verbal instructions are needed with children because of attention time and listening skills aren’t always mature. Lectures, assignments and expectations are spelled out in the formal and discussions are encouraged which includes examples and observations.
