My teaching style completely depends on the learner. In a classroom setting, I am fairly relaxed and ensure that students feel confident and able to communicate without fear. My lessons address each of the learning styles so that every student has the opportunity to utilize their strengths when it comes to processing information. In a one-on-one setting, I tend to teach mostly to the style of the individual student. However, I vary the methods of that style to prevent monotony. I still utilize the non-dominant learning styles so students can begin to develop a holistic approach to learning, but if something flat out does not work, I will try a different approach. I have been the educational field for over fifteen years. My experience varies from classroom instruction to self paced, online adult programs. I have taught technical and non-technical courses to a variety of age groups.

I have been a classroom teacher for 9 years. All 10 of my years out of school have been in the education field. My first year out of college I taught at an unaccredited private school, and then at an accredited day care center. The next 7 years were at a public school. One year I was recruiting for scholarships at the college level. I have always opened my door to students without expectations of payment for several years. I feel that it is my duty to make sure they understand their assignments. My passion is working with children of all ages. I believe all children can learn and it depends on how you approach their learning. If a child is not learning, I need to re-evaluate how I go about teaching. I am very patient and have an outgoing personality. I believe that you must teach to the whole child before true learning can happen.

While in high school, I discovered my love for math and began tutoring classmates in that area. My interest in writing developed during my educational career at The University of Tulsa, where I had courses in advanced exposition and argumentation and writing for the professions along with literature classes in the areas of Russian and British Literature of the 18th Century, Eastern Literature, and Greek Literature. I also took courses in Spanish, including a composition course. I currently have contracts to publish 2 manuscripts in 2011, one being a compilation of poetry and the other being a research paper dealing with depression stemming from exercise withdrawal.
