A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a nurse for 10 years, 3 of which I taught nursing. During this time I taught Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacology, Trauma & Emergencies, and Pathophysiology. This experience, along with 7 years of caring for patients in the hospital, has given me the ability to help students to better understand these subjects and apply them to the clinical area. I have earned a bachelor degree in nursing in a program that emphasized presentations and computer knowledge. This gives me a better understanding to help college students with projects and presentations.
I believe that each person learns differently. It is important to identify how students learn and teach them accordingly. My teaching methods vary depending upon the subject matter and the pupil’s preferences. I enjoy getting to know students and customizing their learning experience to the methods that will best serve them. In the classroom setting, I employ many forms of teaching, including lecture, memorization, demonstration and the Socratic Method when appropriate. I have worked with students from all backgrounds and age levels, and enjoy each student for their own unique personality and potential. I believe that all children can be successful when surrounded by people who care and tools to get them there.
