While in college I took every opportunity to help friends and classmates. I enjoy understanding a subject and then helping another understand it as well. Everyone learns differently, and it takes relating each persons style to that subject. I feel most people enjoy learning as long as they can avoid becoming frustrated. I have peer tutoring experience with friends and class mates in college. I have have a BS in Biology and Pre-Dental Prep. I finished with a major GPA of 3.7 and overall GPA of 3.3. I am a huge fan of the sciences, and enjoy keeping up to date on that knowledge. I currently work in a sales role that requires me to call on "C" level executives in Indianapolis.

I like to have a relationship with the students I tutored where they feel comfortable with me; I want them to be able to tell me the problems they're having with the work and what I can do to help. I like to be friendly with them while still being an authority figure where they want to do their best. I think this type of relationship allows me to push the students to their maximum limit without discouraging them when we're having a difficult session. I worked at LearningRX as a cognitive skills trainer where I worked with students who were having difficulty in school and I was able to find their areas of difficulty and help build those areas up while also helping with their memory, visual acuity, and processing speed.

I like to work one-on-one with students. I can get a better feel for their learning style and therefore teach for that specific student. I like to teach by relating the subject to real life situations. All students can learn anything, it just sometimes takes a more personal approach before it really clicks. That is what I want to provide for a student. I graduated Cum Laude from Ball State with a double major in Visual Communication and Genetics. Both my parents were teachers and I often tutored my friends. With a degree from Purdue University and continuing on to get a degree in engineering, I am engaged in many areas of science and math. Even at a young age I taught my younger sister basic mathematical and reading skills even before she entered kindergarten; we called it "school". The youngest, my brother, in which we are both diagnosed with ADHD, is amazing. I quickly learned to be patient with him when helping with his homework because I can see the same frustration on his face I had at his age when trying to concentrate on a difficult task.
