I am a College Student studying English and Politics

I am a very firm believer that each human being has a different way of learning. I also believe that each subject has a different way to be taught. I teach based off of my students, as well as the subject.
I was a tutor in high school for many elementary and middle school aged children. I am also experienced with writing papers, so I can help anyone who is writing for a college application or essay. I am a very quick learner, so if there is a subject I am not as familiar with I am willing to study it to help a student. My goal is to help students understand the context being taught, as well as teach them the importance of this knowledge. I have often used the phrase "When will I ever need this?" and I have learned later on in life that each subject is important. This is the messageI want to get across to children, that learning new things is a very important aspect of life.

Most of my teaching experience has been with the Detroit Board of Education in the area of art and humanities which includes history and english. I am certified and capable of teaching any subject in elementary and jr.high school. I am gifted and talented in art and communictions at the high school level. I am able to tudor in geometry at the high school level and all math classes before advanced trigonometry. I have advanced abilities in the area of commmuniication and reading.
I am direct, concise, technical and communicative in my teaching style. I desire a two-way communicative approach, allowing the student his/her input. I have wanted to help others learn for as long as I can remember; even as early as the fourth grade I was helping my classmates with assignments. I have always loved learning and helping others to learn. I earned a BS in Psychology in college so I would have a better understanding of how the mind works and learns. I never turned a person down; if I did not know much about a subject I would research it. I even took a course that would teach me how to assist individuals with essays and research papers.
