A Little Bit About Me...

I am a sophomore at Eastern Kentucky University. I would really love to tutor in ASL since it is my minor and I love the language. I have taken up to 201 but I have many deaf friends who have taught me more then a class ever could. My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : I teach students various reading comprehension strategies such as summarizing, imaging, concept mapping, and numerous repair strategies. I also teach the students to use both text features and concept maps for science and social studies.

I've got around 8 years of college and university work under my belt, and I am getting ready to finish a BA in Elementary Education from Western Governors University. I love teaching. I got the teaching bug while teaching English as a Foreign Language in China. I taught there for almost 9 years altogether, 1 year in Beijing, 7 years in Tianjin, and 1 year in Taiwan. I now work as a substitute teacher for Lewis County Schools and I also volunteer in the school library where I help struggling students with reading.

Affordable tutoring with an experienced college graduate.

I have worked at an academic library for the past 8 years. I scored a 29 on my reading ACT and have tutored elementary reading to children during four years of high school. I have also took numerous history classes at the college level and have worked with children from the ages of 4 years to 17 years of age.
