Depending on the area we need to work, the focus of the lesson will vary, but more often my students need all four skills to develop (speaking, listening, writing and reading). I strongly believe in the communicative approach in which I'm internationally certified. I'm open to my students wishes and preferences and choose activities for lessons accordingly.

My comments on tutoring English ESOL : I have over 15 years of tutoring and teaching experience, and one of the subjects I teach is English as a Second Language. I was a Language Arts/Literature/English teacher in Saint Joseph School in Dominican Republic; a tutor for the Brigham Young University Language Center for students that were in the English as a International Language Program; have taught TOEFL preparation classes, and conversational English. I have always enjoyed teaching and helping others to learn. I don't believe in "I can't do it" or "I can't learn". A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style definitely has a communicative approach, it includes reading writing and speaking. I prefer the communicative approach because most students learn grammar but what good does that do them when they can't speak the language? All lessons are based on communicating and being able to speak the language being taught.
