Drama is one of my top subjects! I have many years of theatrical performances as well as a degree from American Musical and Drama Academy (AMDA)in New York, NY. I have always approached a teaching lesson as a learning opportunity. Learning is a fundamental skill. If you don't have your basic fundamentals, your student will have difficulty advancing. So, I always start with basic fundamentals such as; note taking, study skills, and comprehension! All sciences demand the ability to link concepts together. Ex. cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ systems,etc.....! By understanding the make-up of cellular structures and relating that to tissue functions the students can fully understand a subject. This proves true with all subjects. I am currently working at Challenger 7 Elementary School as the only Guidance Counselor. I have created a study group club with students that need study skills, organizational skills or assistance getting their work done! I have been employed as a substitute teacher and mental health counselor in the past. I enjoy working with students because a lot of their stress is due to frustration of not knowing a concept. If you work with the students on their frustration you begin to see improvement in their grades!
