I have formally taught and tutors for 12 years. I believe I have been most successful because of the rapport I build with students. I hold high expectations and believe in them! Below is a summary of my experience: -special educator in a public school setting for 12 years. -taught 9th grade for two years, 3-5th grade for seven years and 6th grade for four years. -I have taught students with a wide range of abilities in the mainstream setting and in separate settings. For the last 3 years I ran a program in grade for students with language based learning disabilities including dyslexia. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Georgia in 2000, I went on to study Poetry with renowned poets Bill Knott and John Skoyles at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts.
