My personal philosophy is to let children make their own discoveries. I am essentially a person that will guide a student to that discovery and ask questions all along the way to activate their brain in terms of problem solving. I love teaching children. When I first meet a child I get to now them at first, building rapport, trust, and likability with them. After that it is easiest for me to discover their learning style. Once this has been accomplished then I can begin helping them. I try and use non conventional ways to help children learn if they just aren't appearing to understand.
