I have always been very enthusiastic about learning and always find myself helping others to discover a deeper understanding of a subject. During my time tutoring math, I discovered that there is a necessary balance to allow the student time to process the material without allowing them to get frustrated and giving up. I believe in stretching their mind while providing support to the necessary skills to accomplish the goal at hand. I do great with children. I have often participated in the children's ministry at my church and enjoy the opportunity to teach on that level. As an Emporia State graduate, I was very much driven to be a creative planner, a lifelong learner, and an effective practitioner. I have earned my BS in elementary education, and did my student teaching in a first and second grade classroom. I feel that I am very qualified to be a great tutor.
I love teaching and working with children. I believe elementary teachers are the building blocks for a child’s future, and children are our future. To be an effective practitioner, I will present lessons in a manner that allows your student to learn and grow, incorporating a variety of teaching methods to target the learning style that works best for the student. I will be the best teacher that I can be. I do not know what the future holds for me, but I do know that I want to share my passion for teaching with tutoring children.
