I especially like working with High School students.Initially, they can be quite a challenge to work with, but once they are engaged they are fully immersed in the topic! I like to be creative and interactive! I was a difficult High School student so I can relate to many that get bored with some topics. I really like to use transactional teaching methods. I introduce a subject and have discussions about the material rather than strictly lecturing.I like to learn what the student can teach me after assigned a reading. My teaching experiences include college faculty member and home school teacher for my four children. They graduated from the Independent Study High School University of Nebraska, participated in Running Start and are all college graduates. I was also a 4-H leader for over twenty years and instructed many youth. As a community organizer, I developed public education and outreach programs. I attended Heritage University for 3.5 years in pursuit of my Nursing degree. I have taken College math, written many college papers, and studied alot of science along the way. I also cordinated a mentor program through YVCC for almost two years. I have recently changed paths and with obtain my BA in criminal justice in less than a year. I changed paths after the sudden death of my mother just over a year ago.
