I'm here to help!

I double-majored in biology in chemistry in undergrad, so the field of science and medicine is my first love and my strength. I have also received a Masters of Public Health Degree in Epidemiology, and have since completed my 2nd year of medical school. I have always had a strong affinity for math and english as well. I have a published thesis paper that was constructed and presented as required for my masters curriculum. I have been tutoring since I was in high school, and have tutored elementary to college level courses.
I have a relaxed, stress-free teaching style, while staying on task and topic. I make sure the pupils really understand the material by breaking things down to the basics, and reviewing the foundations. I have recently graduated from Virginia Tech where I majored in Biological Sciences. This included biology, physics, and chemistry as focus points. My tutoring experience has been volunteer work. Throughout my academic career I have always helped others, from explaining difficult concepts to peer reviewing papers in college. I have also been a substitute teacher at my local high school since 2007. I recently worked under a doctoral candidate on a research project about warblers. One duty was to train volunteers in all aspects of capturing and processing the birds. As you can see my tutoring experience comes from real life experiences which is shown in my tutoring style.
