I have tutored GED students in math for most of the last ten years. Most of the tutoring was in a classroom, but some of it was private tutoring. Also I have tutored junior high students in Algebra 1 for two years. I have tutored fifth grade students in math for two years. Many students have indicated that they thought I explained concepts well. Also for two years I taught as a teaching assistant in the General Biology labs at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Now it is October, 2020. I have now done 4 years of tutoring at a local Columbia community college. Most of it has been in math, college algebra, and pre-calculus.

Physical science and math are often the most difficult subjects for students, but I believe anyone can understand the "basic idea." The difficulty comes from attempting to connect their intuitive understanding with the symbols on the paper. Many students think of these subjects as the memorization of formulas.
