Teaching is a wonderful experience! My teaching style is laid-back, I'd say. I like having conversations in order to determine how someone learns. I think people learn best when discussing the material and really think it out before they start creating something. Guiding a student down the path of their own learning style is important because they will need those skills in the future when they go off to college or start a career on their own. I graduated from the University of Redlands, in Redlands, CA, with a BA in Liberal Studies and a minor in Communicative Disorders. I have teaching credentials for both Minnesota and California as an elementary educator. During my college years, I was employed as a tutor where I worked with grades K-12 in all subject matters. I have a positive approach to teaching. I am very patient when I go through the lessons and go back and review any older material if it is needed in order to grasp the current lesson of the day. I work hard to make the content stick and I always enjoy to see that light of realization in their eyes when they grasp the concept I am teaching them. My background in Atmospheric Sciences gives me a good base in science and math. I feel my skills will allow me to tutor with both science and math classes, including Calculus I and II classes.
