Experience Summary
I graduated from the University of Redlands, in Redlands, CA, with a BA in Liberal Studies and a minor in Communicative Disorders. I have teaching credentials for both Minnesota and California as an elementary educator. During my college years, I was employed as a tutor where I worked with grades K-12 in all subject matters. I have also been a reading and mathematics tutor for a non-profit tutoring center and was employed with the Redlands Unified School District as an American Reads/Phonetics tutor. My student-teaching was completed in a first grade class and a fourth/fifth grade combination class.
Teaching Style
I hold the personal belief that, “All children are special and learn differently. Each possesses the right and the ability to learn. It is my responsibility to ensure that all children receive the knowledge and tools necessary to reach their full potential.” I think learning needs to be presented in different ways for children to learn because I do not think there is one “right” way to learn. Since not all people learn the same, I try to make sure that I can think of fun, creative, and unique methods for presenting materials. As an educator I can provide homework help, create supplemental lessons to fill-in gaps in learning, and help ensure your child is at grade level.
