My interest in becoming a tutor stems from my life long passion for teaching and learning. Throughout the past eight years, I have focused my efforts on soaking up my education and research experiences across many subdivisions in the field of Psychology. My education ranges from expertise in Social Psychology to Cognitive Neuroscience, however is not limited to these domains. I come from a family of seven children, four of them younger than me, and three of them adopted from the Philippines. Growing up in this setting has allowed me to become patient, tolerant, understanding, and loving. I believe that each child is different and capable of great things if acknowledged in an enthusiastic and attentive manner. I believe in asking children guiding questions to lead them through difficult material without directly presenting an answer or lecturing. I believe in using my own creativity to come up with new methods of learning so that children respond to subjects they may not otherwise enjoy. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2007 with a BA in communication studies. The curriculum at UNLV has given me a solid foundation in both my written and verbal communication skills. I also completed the gerontology program as well in 2007. I have been involved with senior theater programs, and I am currently mentoring for a non-profit organization. The program is for senior men who are 55 years of age, and are trying to obtain a GED and re-enter the workforce. I also have two young children that are currently in 2nd. and 3rd. grade. I tutor them on a daily basis as well.
I thoroughly enjoy working with the elderly population and children as well. If given the opportunity, I would prefer to work with older clientel.
