As an educator, I strive to improve the student's study habits, test taking skills and overall understanding of the subject. I am patient and encourage questions from the student. Also, I believe that "hands on" practice is the best way to really learn a subject. I like to break things down into smaller parts and let the student practice and grasp each concept instead of just showing them how to do it. Repetition is important to the learning process, so I frequently use practice problems to reinforce the daily lesson. I also like to identify the source of the problem and fix it even if I have to go back a few levels from what the student is currently learning. Teaching has become part of a daily process in my life. I believe that any average student with a good and experienced teacher can equally perform as much as the best student in any field. My patience, advanced education and wealth of experience in teaching chemistry have helped me to put joy in the smiles of many students over the years.
