A Little Bit About Me...

My preferred style of teaching is student-lead. I believe in the Socratic method, but appreciate following a curriculum, as well. I volunteer at a Montessori school and I know that getting learners of all ages interested and excited about a topic is the key to retention.

My teaching of children began in 2004, when I taught a Sunday school class to 5-year-olds at my church. Then in 2005, I assisted with teaching the local children at a small mission church. During the 2006 through 2008 school years I subbed in mostly elementary schools, but I also subbed in some middle and high schools. Since 2007, I have been tutoring Jefferson County Public School students in the No Child Left Behind program. As a student of German at Bellarmine University, I was able to learn the German language through immersion experiences in Austria and Germany. I also studied German grammar and literature in depth through classes at Bellarmine. I was a tutor in the Academic Resource Center for two years as I was completing my degree and continued to work with students for a year after my graduation.
