I have 9 years of experience in teaching all levels of Latin. I currently teach full time German and Latin at a public school. I am a 2017 graduate of the Honors Program at Mount St. Mary's University, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in English with minors in Education and Latin. At Mount St. Mary's, I served as a peer tutor for two years and conpleted two extensive research projects (an Honors Thesis in English and an educational research project based on observation and small-group tutoring in a middle school setting).

I obtained a teaching degree in both Latin and History teaching in Utah. Then moved to Texas and taught High School Latin for two years. I learned Latin from Wheelock's Latin text and I am very familiar with it. My High School curriculum used the more modern reading method, specifically the Cambridge Latin Course text. My second year teaching I taught AP Virgil and helped students work their way through large portions of the text and successfully master scansion and other poetic elements.

I graduated from high school as number eleven in rank out of 248. I often assisted other students in both high school and college. Later, as a homeschooling mother of four, I taught all of my children all subjects through the eighth grade level. I just returned from the island of Saipan, where I taught high school English in a private school, and seventh grade English in a public school. I presently am a certified substitute teacher in the Cumberland County, PA, public school system, where I teach almost all grade levels and subjects. I far prefer private tutoring over formal teaching, as I believe my abilities are put to their greatest use in that setting. I absolutely love working with students one-on-one. It's what I do best. As a retired Mathematics Teacher and as a former Consultant/ Financial Analyst, I worked many years in the Computer Field. I have earned a bachelor degrees, BS in Mathematics with a Minor in French Literature and I am certified in both subjects. During the last several years I have tutored students in Calculus, Geometry, Algebra and Trigonometry. I can also teach Latin. I believe all children can learn, but each in different ways.
