I believe that it is necessary to gauge your students as a group and individually before deciding on which teaching methods would be most effective. I believe that naturalistic teaching is important. I also believe in a form of discrete trial training. It takes some of the basics from Discrete Trial and adapts them to fit the needs of the students that are struggling with certain subjects. Research has proven that all students learn differently and lessons cannot be taught primarily through auditory learning. When I was teaching beginner-level German to an adult opera singer, I focused on helping her develop her conversational skills and pronunciation, using English to explain difficult concepts. A Little Bit About Me...

I like teaching one on one. This makes it easier for me to explain to the student and understand them. Smaller groups also work well for me. I was a hands on student that learned through images and repetition. I believe this is a good way to learn not memorize. If you memorize you will forget, and that is pointless in the long run.
