My tutoring experience has mainly been with college students which I have become very fond of doing. I look to this an advantage because I believe it makes me better able to work with high school students since the high school students will learn at a slower pace than most college students. I am a patient person and I know that by pacing yourself a person can learn much better. I love for people to ask questions when I tutor because this lets me know they want to learn and I can better help them. I evaluate each child during my first session to determine their learning style and their level of need. Once we establish that, I tailor a program of study designed to improve not only the current subject at hand but also to provide long term study habits they can take into their future learning experiences. I use various methods of oral, written and guided reading, memorization and visual learning to reach as many of the brain's centers of learning as possible to truly help the child retain the information long term.
