German is one of my top subjects! This (along with English) is my Native language and I love spreading it here in the U.S. I was born and raised in Germany and miss hearing and speaking it, which is why I have been tutoring for 7 years now!

I am an experienced, international language teacher and have worked with students of all levels and ages for 5+ years now, both on a one-on-one basis as well as in classroom settings. I taught overseas at language schools and universities, helping my students with test preparation and improving their English and German. I Being the daughter of an American father and a German mother, I was raised bilingually and spent the first half of my life in Heidelberg, Germany. In the U.S. I studied Psychology and obtained my Bachelors, while I got certified to teach in England at the University of Cambridge. I am very patient and love the look on a learner’s face when everything finally “clicks.” I understand that every person has his or her own unique learning style and this should always be taken into consideration. I like to design ways of teaching that coincide with the current knowledge of the pupil as this helps to avoid frustration.
I have had much experience in teaching specifically in the areas of social studies, English, German, reading comprehension, and k-6 math. A Little Bit About Me...

I am an easy going person that does not get frustrated with children. I have to deal with rambunctious kids every day at my job and have dealt with them before as a teaching assistant. I was a member of the Honors program at Valencia Community College, and graduated with my Associates (AA) as a Pre-Major in Elementary Education. I was hired as a Substitute Teacher for Orange County Public Schools in 2007, where I substituted for absent teachers and paraprofessionals in the Orange County Public Schools district. As a Substitute teacher, I taught children individually, as well as in group settings with varying exceptionalities. I also have taught children piano lessons, and french horn lessons in after-school programs.
