My teaching approach is to be direct and explicit, as well as facilitative. When working with students, my goal is that they internalize concepts and strategies that will ultimately enable them to perform independently. Then, when teaching reading and writing, I emphasize underlying structures and organization of text and the steps in the writing process. A Little Bit About Me...

During my time at the University of Maine, I completed many courses in both Studio Art and the History of Art. I have studied 2-D and 3-D design, sculpture, painting, drawing, graphic design, and other mixed medias. Under each of those umbrellas I have advanced skills in fostering original ideas and learning new materials through creative exploration. I have earned my BA in Studio Art and completed a Minor in Art History.
