Taught Kindergarten through 8th grade. Currently, work with students with special needs, developmental delays, autism,dyslexia and dyscalclia. Previous supervisor of a behavior health program for children with special needs and/or who had experienced trauma in their lives. Taught children's theatre for many years and put on exciting productions! Specialize in writing, reading, and wrote a unique app for learning how to read.
Children say that I am so patient and relaxed. One little girl asked me last week, "how come I don't grate on your nerves? My mom says I grate on her nerves." Well, no child has ever "grated on my nerves" :) Children know I care about them and we develop a mutual respect for each other.

A Little Bit About Me...

My philosophy is one of inclusiveness in the classroom. My approach is one of teamwork, to give the students the feeling that their classmates and teacher are all working together towards a goal, their success. I believe that students need to be well-supported in their learning process but not spoon fed. Improvement is everyone's responsibility. As the leader of the class, it is my responsibility to analyse how best to teach each students, by knowing their learning styles and instructing them accordingly. I am an Ivy League graduate with a BA in Classics. As an undergraduate, I studied Latin and ancient Greek, as well as classical and medieval history and literature. I have extensive experience in researching, writing and editing due to my own studies as well as reviewing the work of colleagues. I have two years experience teaching small classes and tutoring individuals.
