A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a student at the University of Texas at Brownsville majoring in the Bilingual Education field. I worked for 2 years as a teacher's assistant at a dance studio and I currently work at a public high school as an English, Science and Social Studies tutor. As you can see, I have experience on working with both children and teenagers. I have also tutored students from the university I assist; however, I do not work at the tutoring lab of the school.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am 2 maths above my required grade level mathematics. I love helping children with school work because I personally enjoy mathematics and English. I can also help provide fine arts tutoring such as Theatre help.I love theater arts and would have a great experience helping a child with it. Grammar is one of my top subjects! essays mean nothing w/out proper grammar

I have been teaching for 5 years now, and I must say it's been very rewarding. Helping students achieve their academic goals is a wonderful feeling. I've taught both 6th and 7th grades with much success. Students are very receptive to my teaching methods, and rarely have I had a negative experience with any of my students. I can teach both English and Reading; I also know a bit about Spanish, you know basic grammar structures and what not. I have an affinity for translation and interpretation; I can translate and interpret from English-Spanish and vice-versa. The funny thing about it is that it just comes natural for me. I'm here to help you in anything I possibly can, academically speaking, of course.

I feel that I am qualified for this position because I have 15 years of experience as a certified teacher. I have taught English II/CLA II for one year at the secondary level, twelve years in the first grade level ,one year as a fifth grade teacher and one year as a fifth/sixth grade teacher. My Texas life certificates include: Provisional Secondary English (6-12), Provisional Elementary English (1-8) and Provisional Elementary Self-Contained. The last three years I taught first grade at a campus that had been under a Reading First Grant and I had been trained in numerous reading strategies and activities.
