With respect to my teaching style, I liken it to a series of books written by Isaac Asimov entitled, Understanding Physics. These books have little math but explain the physical concepts in a story-like fashion. I find this very important because many physics books and instructors put too much emphasis on the mathematics and not enough on conveying the physical concepts. The result is a student who is unable to solve physics problems. First, the student must know the physical concept which then enables them to apply the correct mathematics in order to solve the problem. Mathematics is an art in itself but is simply a tool to solve physics problems. Instructed all physics laboratories at San Diego State University for calculus and non-calculus based physics courses. These courses included: Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and Modern Physics.

LaTalya J - Murrieta, CA 92563 (24.8 mi) - Aerospace Engineering Tutor - $44.50/hr.
I have earned two degrees, a bachelors degree in Business and Masters in Business and Information Technology which has provided me with outstanding experience and understanding in the math, reading comprehension areas. I have always excelled in science as well because the subject has always been a joy of learning for me. I have personally held afterschool science programs at the local recreation center for children in grades k-8. Working with the youth has always been a joy for me and for the past 7 years I have contributed in a number of subjects including writing, reading, math and science. I really enjoy teaching and working with children of all ages. I know that children can excel at anything and we all have different learning styles. Co-partnering with parents is critical to success in their child(ren) education. Everyone should have the opportunity to succeed and should be pr

My teaching style is highly interactive and somewhat Socratic in that I will ask a number of questions to the student before giving an answer. In doing so, I can diagnose what information the student knows and find out where they may be lacking.
Additionally I try to communicate with the student in a language they understand. If the student is a visual learner I would try to show examples whereas a student that is more auditory, I would spend more time talking and using stories to communicate information.
The combination of these techniques have been quite successful for me over the past many years. Starting in my college years when I was a Sr. Faculty Associate to my current status where I teach people how to build web sites, I have been teaching for most of my career. Additionally, I am a certified IC3 (Computer skills) instructor and have home schooled my daughter.
