Experience Summary
Starting in my college years when I was a Sr. Faculty Associate to my current status where I teach people how to build web sites, I have been teaching for most of my career. Additionally, I am a certified IC3 (Computer skills) instructor and have home schooled my daughter.
As an electrical engineer with a MS degree from Santa Clara University, I am prepared to teach on the subjects of mathematics, technology and engineering. Additionally, in my career as an engineer, program manager and business owner, I am able to pass on knowledge from my real world experience in a number of other areas.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is highly interactive and somewhat Socratic in that I will ask a number of questions to the student before giving an answer. In doing so, I can diagnose what information the student knows and find out where they may be lacking.
Additionally I try to communicate with the student in a language they understand. If the student is a visual learner I would try to show examples whereas a student that is more auditory, I would spend more time talking and using stories to communicate information.
The combination of these techniques have been quite successful for me over the past many years.
