In 1984, I extended my teaching experience by volunteering for the Eagle Mount program as a downhill ski instructor for students with several disabilities. At this time I decided to pursue a degree in education, which I completed in 1985. I was hired by the Crane District in Yuma, Arizona in January of 1986 and transferred to the Yuma Union High School District in the Fall. I have taught science and coached swimming since that time. I am Certified in the State of Arizona to teach biology, chemistry and earth science. Through out my career I have taught 14 different science and technology courses.

Education is very important to me. Just recently, I have graduated with honors and magna cum laude from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. My undergraduate GPA in college was 3.95 and my High School GPA was a 3.98. In the past four years, I have taught Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry laboratory. I have also tutored students in chemistry and statistics in the past. Math and science are areas that I am very passionate about. In every class that I've taken, I have helped my peers to grasp the material by spending additional time in "study groups".
