I have been teaching chemistry and physics for 15 years including AP chemistry. I love the challenge of presenting some pretty difficult topics to all levels of learners. I love it when students can see that they can be successful in classes that many people feel are very difficult. I have been teaching AP chem for about 12 years with a 50% pass rate.

A Little Bit About Me...

In May of 2009 I graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology and Chemistry. During my undergraduate career I worked a semester as a Supplemental Instruction Leader. My position required me to help further students understanding of Molecular and Cellular Biology. After I received my degree I spent a summer teaching Chemistry, Biology, and Physics to under-priviledged high school students for the Upward Bound program at The University of South Dakota. Currently I teach Elementary, Middle, and High School math for Tutor.com. I am interested in further tutoring positions as my Tutor.com position has limited hours available.

I believe that children learn best when they are given confidence and support in every step they take. It can be a frustrating time for them and they need to know that they have everything they need to be successful and to learn a new skill. Patience, trust and understanding are vital to a child wanting to learn and be open to trying new things. I worked as the department tutor for a first semester calculus based physics course at my university. I also graded undergraduate physics homework for second semester calculus based physics. Throughout my undergraduate education, I worked as a research during the summer and post graduation, I spent continued school for a year as a graduate student. Then I took a year off to see the world as a consultant.
