I returned to school at the age of 47 to get my degree in history. A Little Bit About Me...

Different children learn in different ways. Some are visual learners, some are auditory learners and some are kinesthetic learners. I like teaching in whatever way best connects with the student.
I am an elementary school teacher in the Northern Virginia area and have been tutoring students for the past 2 years. I love my job and would not change it for the world. I have experience in all of the fields that are listed. Most of the skills I have acquired were either through learning them during my time at school or through doing personal research because they interested me. A Little Bit About Me...

As I suffered through my younger years with Attention Deficit Disorder, I feel that it is extremely important to appeal to almost all of the senses when teaching. As for myself, I am definitely a visual learner, so I feel that visual aids are important. I am a big fan of hand outs in full color. You will often find me drawing a picture on the board. I feel it is important to hear it and see it, and if you can, touch it. Another important teaching style I implement, is watching my students and making sure they know how to do it.
