Dyslexia is one of my top subjects! I teach dyslexic students to become better readers, to be able to comprehend what they have read, how to become better at spelling, and how to write.

I use the Orton-Gillingham method. It is a multi-sensory approach. The multi-sensory approach helps students to learn in all the different ways our brain can learn. It is a highly effective teaching approach. I am a very patient teacher who encourages students to reach their full potential.
I have been trained by Neuhaus Dyslexia Center in Houston, TX. I have been tutoring students for two years, and absolutely love it! My desire as a dyslexia tutor is not to just teach students how to read, but to help them develop a love for reading! Prior to tutoring, I taught at St. Thomas Episopal School in Houston, for seven years. I received my Bachelors degree from Abilene Christian University in Interdisciplinary Studies. My focus was Eduaction and Exercise Science.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of Southwestern University with a Bachelor in English and Communications, I was drawn to the field of education. I come from a family of teachers. After earning a post-baccalaureate certification in Secondary Education with a focus on English/Language Arts, I taught for a couple years and wanted to expand my teaching to younger students as well.
