My name is Kaitlyn. I am passionate about languages and cultures and therefore am enthusiastic about assisting others on their journey in learning to speak, read and write a foreign language. I can relate to the dedication and drive that is required while pursuing any language, as I have just recently graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. I have been studying this beautiful language for over 10 years now. I have had many experiences in education both during and after my college education. I have been put into many situations that have required using much of the curriculum content, classroom management, and lesson plan developing skills that I have acquired. I have a major in science, but I also have extensive mathematical skills due to the many math classes I have taken for my BS and while currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Accounting. I have had the opportunity to tutor students in math, science, reading, writing, and social studies.

A Little Bit About Me...

I began my educational career at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. It was here that I learned to challenge myself and to help others. I was led to the field of education after many years of volunteering in schools, at church and as a mentor. I have earned a BA in Sociology and an MA in Elementary Education. I am also working on a second masters in K-12 Literacy Instruction. I have worked as a classroom partner in an Korean ESL classroom; a 3rd-5th grade tutor in a Spanish speaking ESL classroom, a 2nd-5th grade Behavior Specialist, an Instructional Interventionist for 1st-5th grade, a 3rd grade a Kindergarten teacher and am currently a 2nd grade classroom teacher.
