My name is Barbara M. I was born in Hamburg, Germany and raised in Japan. I have been tutoring for the past six years in Cape Coral, Florida. My comments on tutoring German : IB German and O level German by Oxford University passed

Since the age of 15 i have tutored in Japan to Japanese people German or English and to foreigners Japanese on and off. My influence of teaching came from my mother who taught privately and who was the first Japanese teacher at American school in Singapore. The last 4 yrs i have been tutoring in Cape Coral /Ft Myers area to variety of students from young age to adult. I grew up in both languages German and Japanese i know the challenges each languages has.
I will adjust to individual needs. Materials are used what students have or i can use my materials. Each lesson is based on the needs of each students.

I use the hands-on technique which combines written material as well as visual teaching (touch, feel, hear, and see). Music, CD's and worksheets are provided and create a trustworthy, fun, and educational environment.
I was an English Instructor in an elementary school in Germany. Up to 12 children (2nd Grade, ages 8-9 years). A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught for 20+ years in Germany (mainly Math, English and Reading) and for 4 years in Kansas City, MO. There I taught all core subjects: Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. Right now I have got several part time jobs: I work as a sub at a colligiate high school (all subjects), I will teach German at the Edison College in Fort Myers (Continuing Education) and I tutor for a private company doing SES tutoring - Reading and Math. I have prepared young people to do their GED, too. The subjects I did there were Math, Science and American History.
