This is my first year teaching and I am working towards my certification and toward my Masters in Education in Languages at the College of Charleston. I have been tutoring both English and Spanish since 2001 while I was working towards my degree in Spanish. I love young people and I am very passionate about education. I was asked to teach French for seven summers for students who had failed during the school year. One year they were short a sophomore French teacher and I did that every morning before work. I then realized I had a passion for teaching language. When I was teaching the children of Saint Anthony, I made sure that my classes were well prepared. We reviewed their homework, and I encouraged and motivated them, always. I think that children do well in classes that are well prepared, and varied with different grammar, vocabulary, talking, reading, and visual teaching methods.
